OCAN Summer Webinar Series: Setting Up Our Children for Health and Success as They Enter a Stressful School Year
On Tuesday, September 21 at 3:15 PM Eastern, please join the Obesity Care Advocacy Network for a discussion about how to prepare students for a healthy and successful return to school. Our children face many unique challenges this year, from increasing rates of childhood obesity in the U.S. to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, all while many schools attempt to return to in-person schooling.

Following our first webinar on Obesity Across the Lifespan, and our second webinar on Community Partnerships to Address Obesity, this final webinar in our summer series will dive into ways that parents and families, healthcare professionals, school staff and the community can work together to support students’ physical, mental and academic well-being.

The event will feature a discussion with:
• Elizabeth Clark, MSN, RN, NCSN – Nursing Education and Practice Specialist, National Association of School Nurses
• Paul Davidson, PhD – Director of Behavioral Services, Center for Weight Management and Wellness, Brigham and Women’s Hospital
• Susan Woolford, MD, MPH – Associate Professor, Department of Pediatrics, University of Michigan

Moderated by:
• Heather Hodge, MEd – Senior Director, Community Health, YMCA of the USA
